One pleasant surprise is that Dubrovnik is CHOCK FULL OF CATS.  There are stray cats everywhere up in here.  Seriously, the above is just a representation of the number cats I have taken photos of, which is in itself just a representation of number of cats we have seen here.  Normally a town full of stray cats would completely break our hearts, but they all seem to be treated well and fed by the residents, and are all super docile and sweet.  As a result, Jared has tried to pet every. single. one.  No exaggeration.  We always love having animals around, so it’s been really nice to have some kittehs to pet, but it makes us miss our own sweet girls back home:
