My favorite sight in the morning is the view of the Adriatic as we pass through the Pile Gate to go to the gym. Usually the water in the inlet is like glass, but a few times it’s been excitingly choppy and stormy. Monday it was absolutely roiling, so while Jared did some work I went down and took some pictures and video. Some of the waves were easily 10 feet high, and they made a pretty spectacular scene as they tried to break into the small space between the Bokar Fortress and the Fort of St. Lawrence. Once inside the walls though, it was a pretty calm and mild day. As you can see from the video the winds were pretty high, but apart from a grey sky you’d never know from inside the city that the weather was bad outside the walls.
